1899 built as yacht APHRODITE for Colonel Oliver Payne, New York, USA.
20.05.1917 commandeered by the US government and enjoined into the United States Navy. The ship served as surveillance craft and convoy escort at Bordeaux, France, during World War One.
1919 returned to Oliver Payne, New York, USA, heir of deceased Colonel Oliver Payne.
1927 sold to Apostolos Riggas, Piraeus, Greece, and renamed AETOS.
1929 transferred to Hellenic Coast Lines, Piraeus, Greece, as capital equivalent to 11.437.500 Drachmas.
1933 renamed MACEDONIA.
29.10.1940 commandeered by the Greek government
22.04.1941 with captain Athanassios Armyras in command and with 55 passengers, the ship was attacked at Spilia on the island of Trisonia in the bay of Korinth, Greece, by the German Luftwaffe with incendiaries and bombs, severely damaged and set afire. Little time later, the burning steamer was beached where it sank later. One loss, Ioannis Hatziris (Sailor). After the war, scrapped by O.A.N. (Greek demolition committee).
